Where does the tour begin/end?
The Prague Behind The Scenes Tour (4 hours walk)
This tour starts every day at 10:00 AM and must be booked ahead of time.
The meeting point is in front of the Hybernia Theatre (Divadlo Hybernia in Czech) at Náměstí Republiky 3/4.
The tour ends at Prague Castle, which means it is not a return tour. But you don´t have to worry about your way back, the nearest subway/tram stop Malostranská (line A) is located just 10 minutes away from Prague Castle. .
Unknown Downtown Tour (2,5 hours walk)
This tour is not scheduled. Please drop me an e-mail if you are interested so that we can arrange all the details.
Meeting point: Náměstí Republiky 3/4, Prague 1, right by the entrance to Hybernia Theatre (Divadlo Hybernia in Czech language). I will be waiting for you there, wearing a simple badge with Prague Behind The Scenes logo and my name: Dana.
End of the tour: By the riverbank (Alšovo nábřeží), very close to the Charles Bridge.
If the weather is bad, is the tour canceled or...?
As Scandinavians like to say: “There is no bad weather, just bad clothing.“ The tour is given rain or shine. Please, dress for the elements, ensure you have good walking shoes, and have FUN!!!
What should I bring with me on the tour?
For your comfortable walk it is very, very, very much recommended to have a good pair of shoes (not flip flops) as there is various terrain: cobble stones, short uphill parts, etc. So proper shoes are absolutely essential. It is also good to have some cash/change with you, so you can purchase drinks or snacks along the way – or use a toilet 🙂
Is it difficult to complete the tour? Do I need to be really fit?
Prague Behind The Scenes (4 hours walk)
No worries, difficulty is light/medium. We will have a light, relaxed tempo with enough time for taking pictures. Part of the tour has some hills but you will be profoundly rewarded for your efforts. The view from the top is absolutely priceless. Just count on a little bit of exercise, which doesn´t mean we are going to be walking the whole duration of the tour, we will stop often and there will be one extended coffee/snack break. IN GENERAL you will be walking for just 2 hours, the rest is for stops, talks, restroom breaks, coffee break and taking pictures.
Unknown Downtown Tour (2,5 hours walk)
This tour is very light walk with many interesting stops. Just take a camera, water and a pair of good walking shoes and join me.
Can children join the tour?
Prague Behind The Scenes (4 h walk) involves a bit of exercise and is more suitable for adults but if you think your child will complete the tour and enjoy/understand the volume of information, young visitors are more than welcome! Just keep in mind that we also need to be considerate to the rest of the group and follow a certain time frame.
I don´t recommend taking baby carriages as the terrain is not very suitable for them – cobble stones, uphill parts, stairs.
Is the tour wheelchair accessible?
I am very sorry, but due to the terrain I can´t recommend this tour to people in wheelchairs.
What about some breaks during the tour?
Yes, on my Prague Behind The Scenes Tour (4,5 h walk) we will stop in non-touristy coffee place for light lunch and coffee. Very nice and cozy place with reasonable prices! During Unknown downtown (2,5 h walk) we don´t take a break.
How does the WiFi works?
There will be a portable WiFi hotspot available along the whole tour. In the beginning you will be provided with a password, so you can start surfing or posting pictures right away. Please note, this is not a regular high speed internet for downloading movies, but it is absolutely great for posting photos on social media and other online fun along the way 🙂
