If you don´t want to buy a ticket to the touristy circus and prefer more intimate and nuanced experience, Prague Behind The Scenes Tour might be a great option for you.
Prague Behind The Scenes 4,5h tour is the very first tour I designed for my clients. This special walk was created for all who want to explore Prague in one walking tour. In a less touristy way, with local guide and in a small group of max. 6 people. This tour will take you away from the conventional routes, along back alleys to find the city’s hidden gems.
It covers most of the main Prague sights and take you to the lesser visited places, too. Great way how to get the best overview about the city. Not only about sights, but also about local traditional businesses, curiosities, nowadays life and recent history.
The best bit? Free access to my WiFi network throughout the whole tour. You can stay connected all the time and share your pictures online right away. Everyone joining the tour will also receive an original gift – Polaroid photo printouts with images of places we visited during the tour: Printed memories of Prague.
OPTIONAL: If this tour is too long or demanding for you, I also offer shorter version called Prague Behind The Scenes “light version” – it´s only 3 hours long, including a tram ride.
WHAT WILL YOU SEE
11 MAIN PRAGUE SIGHTS
On this tour you will see 11 major Prague sights: Charles bridge (we will not cross it, you will see it from very special perspective and without being surrounded by thousands of tourists) – Kampa island – Powder Tower – Municipal House – Metronome – Rudolfinum – Loreta – Strahov monastery – John Lennon wall – Prague Castle (1st, 2nd, 3rd courtyard) – St. Vitus Cathedral.
I will also show you many of the local hidden gems (my speciality): New World, the most picturesque quarter in Prague with cannonballs in house walls – Workshop where stained glass windows for St. Vitus Cathedral were made (from outside) – Cool sculpture of walking Trabant (less known art work of David Černý) – Amazing echo stairs at Prague Castle – The smallest house in Prague – The shortest street – First Czechoslovak shopping mall built in communism times and other interesting things you haven‘t found in your guide books.
WHAT CAN YOU ALWAYS EXPECT WITH THIS TOUR?
The 4,5-hour small group tour covers some of the most important sites in Prague, including Prague Castle, St. Vitus Cathedral, Loreta, Municipal House, Powder Gate, Strahov Monastery, and Charles Bridge. We will walk away from the conventional routes, which are full of rushing tourists and kitschy souvenirs; we will rather blend in with back alleys like locals do. For more authentic experience and original photo opportunities. You don’t have to worry about the length of the tour – we’ll stop regularly and there will be enough time to take photos, use WC. We’ll also stop for coffee and a light lunch at an authentic family-run coffee place.
This isn’t a herd-style or umbrella tour, but rather a friendly walk with a real Prague local and fully certified guide. Small group sizes (6 people maximum) mean that you’ll have plenty of opportunity to ask questions, learn and interact with your guide.
REASONABLE PRICE & WIFI
I believe my prices are fair, and reasonable, which might be a bit surpirising in tourism. Yet another prove that Prague Behind The Scenes is standing a bit aside from the mainstream. You will get a four hour tour with a local. Mix of the classic sights with the off-the-beaten-path extras and free access to internet during the whole tour.
LITTLE SQUARES & E-GUIDE BOOK
These little squares are something I call „printed memories of Prague“ Polaroid photo printout with images of places we visited during the tour and everybody who joins my tour will get them as a gift. This is my way of saying “Thank you!” for choosing me to guide you through the city that I love, and I hope you can walk away, loving it just as much. Before you come to Prague I will also send you my new e-guide book called Pre-arrival kit. Special PDF with many practical tips and recommendations.
